The funeral procession for former Hezbollah secretary general Sayed Hassan Nasrallah and another senior figure of the resistance movement Sayed Hashem Safieddine that took place in Beirut on February 23, 2025, with a massive participation of people from Lebanon and 70 other countries.
In a message issued on Friday, Sheikh Qassem thanked the devoted people for their massive participation in the funeral.
“On the day of the funeral, you proved that you are loyal and bearers of the flag (of resistance),” he said.
He added that the massive presence of people and the good organization of the funeral procession was a realization of the event’s motto of “I remain committed to my pledge O Nasrallah!”
Sheikh Qassem also thanked the resistance fighters and said, “Our contribution to the building of the country continues.”
The blood of martyrs, the sacrifice of the wounded and the suffering of those taken prisoner (by the enemy) have given the resistance fighters greater motivation and ability, he went on to say.

Nasrallah was assassinated in Israel’s strikes on southern Beirut on September 27, 2024, following the Israeli regime’s week-long bombing campaign that hit many areas from the country’s south to the capital.
Safieddine was also assassinated in an Israeli attack on October 3, 2024.
